Course Schedule

  • September 10 (Morning): In Class – Hunter Course Design
  • September 10 (Afternoon): Practical – Hunter Course Build
  • September 11 (Morning): In Class – Jumper Course Design
  • September 11 (Afternoon): Practical – Jumper Course Build
  • September 12: Practical Shadow Course Design Day at the Pickering Horse Centre OE Show Schooling Day

Timing: The session will start promptly at 9:00 AM. Finish times are approximate, but typically end around 4:00 PM.

Weather & Attire: This session runs rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather and in a professional manner.

All participants should bring:

  • Notepad, pens, pencils, eraser, highlighter, and a ruler
  • Printed or electronic copies of any resource material provided to you
  • Your own food and drink (with the exception of September 12th, where lunch is provided)

Designed for newcomers, this entry-level training provides the foundational knowledge and skills needed to begin officiating at Ontario Equestrian (OE) sanctioned competitions. You will gain a solid understanding of current Equestrian Canada (EC) rules and practical insight into the role of a course designer.

Led by experienced professionals, the program features a dynamic mix of classroom learning and hands-on experience, giving you the confidence to step into the ring as an official.
