The equestrians coached by Competition Coach Specialists generally work in one specific discipline with access to horses matching their skill level, competing on a regular basis at provincial, territorial, and regional levels (Second level or higher at Gold with at least one minimum score of 65%).

Competition Coach Specialists work with these equestrians to increase performance accuracy and develop the physical and mental skills needed as athletes refine their ultimate goals in equestrian sport.

This training pathway will help prepare you for your Competition Coach Specialist – Dressage evaluation for Certification.

Competition Coach Specialists – Eventing focus on improving athlete skills for Eventing competitors. The equestrians coached by Competition Coach Specialists generally work in one specific discipline with access to horses matching their skill level, competing on a regular basis at provincial, territorial, and regional levels (Ev100 to EV110).

Competition Coach Specialists work with these equestrians to increase performance accuracy and develop the physical and mental skills needed as athletes refine their ultimate goals in equestrian sport.

This training pathway will help prepare you for your Competition Coach Specialist – Eventing evaluation for Certification.

Competition Coach Specialists – Jumping focus on improving athlete skills for Hunter/Jumper competitors. The equestrians coached by Competition Coach Specialists generally work in one specific discipline with access to horses matching their skill level, competing on a regular basis at provincial, territorial, and regional levels (1.0m to 1.20m at EC Silver or Gold shows).

Competition Coach Specialists work with these equestrians to increase performance accuracy and develop the physical and mental skills needed as athletes refine their ultimate goals in equestrian sport.

This training pathway will help prepare you for your Competition Coach Specialist – Jumping evaluation for Certification.

Competition Coach Specialists – General Performance focus on improving athlete skills for Western General Performance competitors. The equestrians coached by Competition Coach Specialists generally work in one specific discipline with access to horses matching their skill level, competing on a regular basis at provincial, territorial, and regional levels (athletes competing at breed or provincial shows and have athlete(s) currently competing and achieving top-5 placings in a class of 6 or more competitors under at least 2 different judges at a minimum of 3 breed or provincial shows*. These results must be repeated in at least 3 different discipline classes from the following list: Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Horsemanship, Trail, Western Riding).

Competition Coach Specialists work with these equestrians to increase performance accuracy and develop the physical and mental skills needed as athletes refine their ultimate goals in equestrian sport.

This training pathway will help prepare you for your Competition Coach Specialist – General Performance evaluation for Certification.

Competition Coach Specialists – Reining focus on improving athlete skills for Western Reining competitors. The equestrians coached by Competition Coach Specialists generally work in one specific discipline with access to horses matching their skill level, competing on a regular basis at provincial, territorial, and regional levels.

To qualify for certification in this context, you must have at least 2 years coaching experience producing athletes competing at National Reining Horse Association (NRHA), Canadian Reining Classic (CRC), or breed shows that have achieved minimum scores of 68 under at least 2 different judges on 3 or more runs.

Competition Coach Specialists work with these equestrians to increase performance accuracy and develop the physical and mental skills needed as athletes refine their ultimate goals in equestrian sport.

This training pathway will help prepare you for your Competition Coach Specialist – Reining evaluation for Certification.

Competition Coach Specialists – Speed Events focus on improving athlete skills for Western Speed Events competitors. The equestrians coached by Competition Coach Specialists generally work in one specific discipline with access to horses matching their skill level, competing on a regular basis at provincial, territorial, and regional levels.

To qualify to be evaluated in this context, you must show at least 2 years coaching experience producing athletes competing at provincial or national speed events or breed shows, or rodeos, that have achieved the following requirements for competitive experience:

• Barrel Racing: A top-10 placing in any division at provincial or national speed event shows, or a top-6 placing at rodeos or breed shows, on 3 or more runs.
• Pole Bending: A time of 26 seconds or under at provincial, national speed event or breed shows or rodeos on 3 or more runs.

Competition Coach Specialists work with these equestrians to increase performance accuracy and develop the physical and mental skills needed as athletes refine their ultimate goals in equestrian sport.

This training pathway will help prepare you for your Competition Coach Specialist – Speed Events evaluation for Certification.

This pathway will guide you through each step to become certified as an Ontario Equestrian Hunter Jumper Judge.

While you can complete these steps in your preferred order, the OE Hunter/Jumper Judge Clinic must be completed before you take the exam or complete your shadowing hours. Once all steps are finished, you will be eligible to purchase your annual OE Judge License.
